CVE-2002-0245

High
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Lotus Domino server version 5.0.8 with NoBanner enabled allows remote attackers to determine the physical path of the server via a request for a nonexistent file with a .pl extension, leaking the pathname in the error message. Additionally, any request causing an HTTP 500 error leaks the server's version name in the HTTP error message.

Risk Assessment

The disclosure of server path information and software version can facilitate further attacks on the infrastructure by attackers. This increases the risk of server compromise and data stored on it.

Recommendation

It is recommended to disable the NoBanner option and implement appropriate security measures to limit the disclosure of server information. Additionally, consider upgrading the server to a newer version to minimize risk.
