Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
A heap-buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the libtiff tiff2pdf utility due to an integer truncation error when processing crafted BigTIFF files. A 64-bit StripByteCounts value is truncated to a 32-bit integer, leading to an undersized memory allocation and a subsequent out-of-bounds memory copy, resulting in a crash and severe memory corruption.
In Concrete CMS 9.2.0 to 9.5.2, the Express REST API list endpoint exposes restricted Express entries via Missing Authorization; the per-entry view permission check was disabled. An OAuth token with read scope for an Express entity could enumerate entries that its user context lacked permission to view, disclosing each entry's public identifier, URL, label, dates, and any attribute or associated-entry data requested via the includes parameter.
Improper restriction of XML external entity references in the RemoteQueryCachePlugin in AWS Advanced JDBC Wrapper 3.3.0 through 4.2.0 might allow an actor with write access to the shared cache infrastructure to disclose sensitive files from application hosts that read cached query results, including stored database and IAM role credentials, via crafted XML data in a cached column value.
Missing Authorization vulnerability in TUBITAK BILGEM Software Technologies Research Institute Pardus About allows Exploiting Incorrectly Configured Access Control Security Levels. This issue affects Pardus About: from 1.2.1 before 1.2.5.
MoguBlog through 6.2 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in the POST /pictureSort/getPictureSortByUid endpoint, which omits the @AuthorityVerify annotation required to enforce role-based permissions. Authenticated back-office users without image-category permissions can supply a category uid to retrieve restricted image-category records including metadata such as name, cover file uid, sort order and timestamps.
MoguBlog through 6.2 fails to validate the comment author identity in the POST /web/comment/add endpoint, allowing authenticated users to post comments attributed to any other user. Attackers can supply arbitrary userUid values in the request body to impersonate other accounts including administrators.
MoguBlog through 6.2 fails to authenticate requests to the /web/comment/closeEmailNotification endpoint. An unauthenticated attacker can disable email notifications for arbitrary users by modifying the startEmailNotification flag in the Redis cache.
MoguBlog through 6.2 exposes Elasticsearch index management endpoints in the mogu_search service without authentication. A remote attacker can delete, recreate, or alter the blog search index, causing search functionality to return incorrect or no results.
Dolibarr 24.0.0 before 24.0.1 contains a case-sensitive denylist bypass vulnerability in the sqlfilters API query parameter. An authenticated attacker can recover protected database fields by supplying uppercase variants of denylist-protected field names, exploiting the mismatch between case-insensitive database column resolution and the case-sensitive denylist check.
CWE-522: Insufficiently Protected Credentials vulnerability that could result in exposure of authentication information and unauthorized access to RTU functionality.
The GamiPress plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authenticated (Subscriber+) SQL Injection via the 'q' parameter of the wpForo integration AJAX selector (action gamipress_wpforo_get_posts) in versions up to, and including, 7.9.7. The value is passed only through $wpdb->esc_like() and interpolated directly into a single-quoted LIKE clause with no %s placeholder, allowing the attacker to break out of the string and inject boolean-based SQL.
The ANJIA AJL33PC0801 IP camera uses a hard-coded credential for bootloader authentication. An attacker with physical access to the device may leverage this weakness to gain privileged bootloader access, allowing unauthorized modification of firmware and system configuration.
A flaw was found in the Dynamic Client Registration service of Keycloak. When a user with the view-clients role accesses the client registration endpoint to retrieve client details, the service returns the client's confidential secret in cleartext due to a failure to mask sensitive information.
NetBSD contains an information disclosure vulnerability in mm_open() within sys/dev/mm.c that allows unprivileged local users to obtain real kernel virtual addresses by opening world-accessible devices such as /dev/null or /dev/zero, which incorrectly receive the PK_KMEM process flag. Attackers can exploit this misconfigured flag to bypass the CANSEE_KPTR obfuscation mechanism and read kernel virtual addresses for sensitive kernel structures.
An information leakage vulnerability exists in the Endpoint DLP component (epdlpdrv.sys) of Netskope Client for Windows prior to version R141. An internal communication channel used by the user-space hook DLL to pass messages through the kernel driver to the daemon lacked proper token-based message validation, and a reply buffer was not properly initialized before returning data, leaking residual kernel pool memory.
Hugo is a static site generator. In versions after v0.123.0 and before v0.165.0, symlinks in parent directories were not dropped during direct resource lookups, allowing path confinement to be bypassed. An attacker who can place a symlink inside a mounted directory can cause functions such as resources.Get and os.ReadFile to follow that symlink and read files outside the intended project boundaries, disclosing their contents in the built site.
AVideo through 29.0 contains an insecure direct object reference (IDOR) vulnerability in objects/categoryDeleteAssets.json.php. The endpoint validates only the Category::canCreateCategory() capability and a CSRF nonce before passing the attacker-supplied id to Category::deleteAssets(), which recursively removes the category's asset directory. It omits the Category::userCanEditCategory() ownership check enforced by the sibling Category::delete().
AVideo through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 fails to verify ownership in addLiveLink.php when updating LiveLinks, allowing authenticated users to modify other users' links. A canStream user can overwrite another user's LiveLink HLS source and metadata by supplying an existing linkId.
AVideo through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 fails to validate ad impressions in plugin/AD_Server/log.php, allowing logged-in users to submit arbitrary label values that trigger unverified wallet credits to campaign video owners. Attackers can repeatedly POST label=start requests to mint YPTWallet balance for any campaign video without proof an ad actually played.
AVideo through commit c3edcc274c389816d434acadac07ee78eaf330c1 is missing an authentication/authorization check in plugin/WebRTC/status.json.php. When the WebRTC plugin is present, any unauthenticated remote user can request the endpoint and receive JSON containing the absolute filesystem path of the WebRTC2RTMP helper binary, the configured WebRTC port, file_exists/is_executable status, log contents, and port reachability information.
