Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
System Informer before 4.0.26241.138 contains an incorrect authorization vulnerability in the phsvc helper that allows local attackers to reach privileged APIs by connecting from any Authenticode-signed process. Attackers can load code into a Microsoft-signed host like rundll32.exe, connect to SiSvcApiPort, and call PhSvcApiCreateService to execute code as SYSTEM.
Dromara Skyeye through commit 003549ae5615bd114ba5bb8ddf6a8e8ead97c321 contains a server-side request forgery and missing authorization vulnerability in the OnlyOffice save callback editUploadOfficeFileById. Unauthenticated attackers can supply arbitrary url and key parameters to make the server fetch internal URLs and overwrite any user's stored file, then read results via queryFileToShowById.
Dromara Skyeye through commit 003549ae5615bd114ba5bb8ddf6a8e8ead97c321 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in the unauthenticated /post/TtsController/textToSpeech endpoint via the format parameter. Attackers can inject a single quote into format to break out of the PowerShell string and execute commands as the Skyeye service account on Windows.
Dromara Skyeye through commit 003549ae5615bd114ba5bb8ddf6a8e8ead97c321 contains a missing authentication vulnerability in bundled xxl-job-admin JobInfoController endpoints annotated with @PermissionLimit(limit = false). Unauthenticated attackers can POST GLUE_SHELL, GLUE_PYTHON, or GLUE_POWERSHELL jobs with attacker-supplied glueSource to /jobinfo/addAndStart, executing commands on the executor host or stopping and deleting jobs.
MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5) through 1.22.2 contains a NULL pointer dereference in make_cred_list() in rd_cred.c that allows authenticated Kerberos clients to crash services by sending mismatched KRB-CRED arrays. Attackers can send forwarded credentials with more tickets than ticket_info entries through gss_accept_sec_context() to crash GSS-API acceptor services, causing denial of service.
MIT krb5 through 1.22.2 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the KDC's get_pac_princ_with_realm() that returns success while leaving the client principal NULL on malformed names. A malicious or compromised cross-realm trusted KDC can send an S4U2Proxy request with a PAC carrying a malformed client name to crash krb5kdc and deny authentication.
Indico is an event management system that uses Flask-Multipass, a multi-backend authentication system for Flask. Prior to 3.3.13, users who can create content, including speakers who can create minutes, can store crafted HTML in event minutes. When concurrent edits are made to the same minutes, the minute editor conflict UI can execute attacker-controlled script in the viewer's browser in the Indico origin. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.13.
@fastify/reply-from is a Fastify plugin that forwards requests to an upstream HTTP or HTTPS server. In versions prior to 12.7.0, all of the built-in HTTPS transports override the secure default and set rejectUnauthorized to false, so the proxy does not verify the TLS certificate of the upstream even when the application points it at an https upstream in the default configuration. An on-path network attacker can therefore impersonate the configured HTTPS upstream, read the credentials and request bodies the proxy forwards, and return forged responses that the application trusts. The issue is fixed in @fastify/reply-from 12.7.0, and users should upgrade to 12.7.0 or later. As a workaround, pass an explicit rejectUnauthorized true on the transport, supply an already configured undici instance, or use the undici global agent.
The MongoDB Python Driver's binary accelerator can read outside a buffer when an application decodes malformed BSON containing a truncated regular-expression element without a trailing NUL byte. An actor who can supply BSON to the documented decode or decode_all API can cause the application process to terminate when the C extension is loaded. The driver's normal database wire-protocol path does not reach this code.
Affected Tapo device firmware stores device-specific cryptographic material in plaintext within nonvolatile storage. An attacker with physical access can recover this sensitive material from the firmware. Successful exploitation may result in disclosure of cryptographic material and increase the risk of unauthorized access to protected information or communications.
Satel Netco Design versions prior to v2.1.7 contains a relative path traversal vulnerability in its data export functionality. An authenticated user with Viewer privileges could write attacker influenced content to file system locations accessible to the application service. Successful exploitation could result in unauthorized file creation or modification and, under certain conditions, arbitrary code execution.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 is vulnerable to path traversal in the GIM file-upload functionality. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability to write arbitrary files to the Collector.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2.2 is affected by a sensitive information exposure vulnerability. During SECRET and API_KEY rotation processing, sensitive credential material is logged at INFO level by edge-controller/edge-manager components. An authenticated attacker with access to relevant logs could obtain these credentials and use them to impersonate services or gain unauthorized access to the Guardium control plane.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.1 and 12.2.2 are vulnerable to missing authentication in the edge-controller component. An unauthenticated remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary container images and gain control of managed edge clusters.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 is vulnerable to a signature verification bypass in the patch installer. An attacker with local access could exploit this to execute arbitrary code with root privileges.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 is vulnerable due to weak cryptographic protection and a hard-coded recovery key in the pkcrypto passkey component. A local attacker could exploit this to recover the root password and gain root privileges.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 is vulnerable to a local privilege escalation in the cp_wrapper component. A low-privileged local user could exploit this to gain root privileges and access or modify sensitive system files.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2 is vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting (XSS) in the Quick Search results grid. An unauthenticated attacker who can influence monitored database traffic could execute malicious script in the browser of an authenticated Guardium user.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.0 and 12.1 are vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow in the S-TAP TrafficTap TDS login reassembly functionality. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send crafted TDS login fragments exceeding the fixed-size reassembly buffer, potentially resulting in denial of service or arbitrary code execution.
IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.0, 12.1, and 12.2 are vulnerable to a heap-based buffer overflow in the MongoDB protocol parser. A remote attacker could send a specially crafted MongoDB SCRAM username with excessive length, causing memory corruption, potentially resulting in denial of service or arbitrary code execution.
