Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
FreeRDP before 3.32.0 stores the server-supplied signed MS-RDPEGT geometry origin unchecked in an unsigned video surface coordinate, so the blit clamp in gdiVideoShowSurface() wraps in 32-bit arithmetic and is skipped. A malicious RDP server can send a negative topLevelLeft to clients connecting with /video, causing an out-of-bounds write of decoded H.264 picture data or a client abort.
FreeRDP 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in collect_keys() that allows local attackers to write past the fixed 64-entry keys array during PKCS#11 key enumeration. Attackers controlling smartcard tokens can present more than 64 public key objects across multiple slots to corrupt heap memory with attacker-chosen CKA_ID and CKA_LABEL data during smartcard logon.
FreeRDP 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains a heap out-of-bounds read in freerdp_assistance_parse_all_elements_of() because it advances its parsing cursor without reducing the remaining length, letting the scan window exceed the decrypted ConnectionString2 buffer. Attackers can supply a crafted .msrcIncident invitation file and password that crash xfreerdp when opened, before any RDP connection.
FreeRDP 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains a heap out-of-bounds read in the WinPR clipboard function convert_filedescriptors_to_file_list(), which scans a server-controlled FILEDESCRIPTORW cFileName with unbounded _wcschr() and count_special_chars() calls without a NUL-termination guarantee. A malicious RDP server can send an odd-length FILEDESCRIPTORW blob in a CB_FORMAT_DATA_RESPONSE, crashing X11, Wayland, and SDL clients when the user pastes server-copied files.
FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability in convert_filedescriptors_to_file_list() in winpr/libwinpr/clipboard/synthetic_file.c. A malicious RDP server can supply '../' sequences so the user's next clipboard paste copies an arbitrary local file instead of the expected remote file.
FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a divide-by-zero vulnerability in the freerdp-shadow-cli shadow server: the frame id in a client's Frame Acknowledge PDU is stored without a range check, so the in-flight frame count in shadow_encoder_inflight_frames() can underflow. An authenticated client can acknowledge a frame id one greater than the last frame sent, causing shadow_encoder_create_frame_id() to divide by zero (SIGFPE) and terminate the process, disconnecting all viewers.
FreeRDP 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains an improper certificate validation vulnerability in freerdp_http_request() in libfreerdp/utils/http.c that completes TLS handshakes without verifying the server certificate chain. On-path attackers can impersonate login.microsoftonline.com in the Azure AD authentication flow to capture OAuth authorization codes and substitute the OpenID discovery document.
FreeRDP from 2.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains an insecure permission vulnerability in winpr-makecert that creates unencrypted private keys without owner-only file modes. Local users on multi-user Unix hosts can read world-readable key files or open PFX files protected by the hard-coded default password to steal private keys.
FreeRDP from 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains an incorrect permission assignment vulnerability that allows local users to read private keys written by crypto_write_pem without owner-only permissions. Attackers on multi-user Unix hosts can enumerate the shared temporary directory during soft-smartcard logon to read the world-readable PKINIT private-key copy.
FreeRDP before 3.0.0 and 3.6.0 before 3.32.0 renders uninitialized heap memory from un-decoded progressive tiles because the tile->current buffer is allocated without zeroing. A malicious RDP server can send a crafted WBT_TILE_FIRST then WBT_TILE_UPGRADE sequence to paint heap bytes onscreen or abort the client process.
FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the client video redirection channel. A malicious server can send a Geometry CLEAR message that nulls presentation->geometry, then send VideoData that dereferences it, crashing the client.
FreeRDP 3.11.0 before 3.32.1 contains a reachable assertion vulnerability in urb_isoch_transfer. A malicious RDP server can send unvalidated OutputBufferSize values, triggering an assertion in libusb_udev_isoch_transfer and terminating the client.
Crawl4AI before 0.9.4 contains a blind server-side request forgery vulnerability in RobotsParser.can_fetch that lets unauthenticated attackers bypass Docker server egress controls. Attackers can enable check_robots_txt and use redirects or DNS rebinding to reach internal, loopback, or cloud-metadata addresses for service discovery.
Crawl4AI 0.7.0 before 0.9.4 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability that allows API clients to reach internal addresses by enabling link_preview_config on /crawl requests. Attackers can supply a controlled page with include_external and include_patterns set, causing AsyncUrlSeeder to fetch internal, private, and cloud-metadata links and return their parsed head data.
Crawl4AI from 0.9.0 before 0.9.4 contains an untrusted-config gate bypass that allows non-admin API clients to construct forbidden config objects by wrapping them in dict-type wrappers. Attackers can send a laundered LLMConfig with api_token set to an env reference via /config/dump to read SECRET_KEY and provider keys, enabling admin JWT forgery.
A vulnerability was found in Edimax BR-6208AC 1.32 in an unknown function of the file '/goform/formWlSiteSurvey'. Manipulation of the 'ifname' argument causes a buffer overflow that can be exploited remotely. The exploit has been published and may be used; the vendor did not respond and the product is no longer supported.
A security flaw has been discovered in Netcore NR268 1.7.121109. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component CGI Endpoint. Performing a manipulation results in cross-site request forgery. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
A vulnerability was identified in Netcore NR268 1.7.121109 in the eval function of /router/l7_call_board_user_set.cgi in the Web UI component. Manipulation of the title/note/URL/content arguments leads to cross-site scripting (XSS). The attack can be launched remotely and the exploit is publicly available.
A vulnerability was determined in Netcore NR268 1.7.121109 in the 'user_ok' function of the CGI Execution component. Manipulation causes improper authentication, and the attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized; the vendor did not respond.
Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ('Cross-site Scripting') vulnerability in BdThemes Element Pack Elementor Addons bdthemes-element-pack-lite allows Stored XSS.This issue affects Element Pack Elementor Addons: from n/a through 8.8.8.
