Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
The filepath package in Go does not recognize paths with a \??\ prefix as special. On Windows, a path starting with \??\ is equivalent to a path starting with \\?\ and can be used to access arbitrary system locations.
Repeated use of the Unpacker after an error occurs may cause the process to crash with a SEGV. If the Unpacker is used repeatedly to unpack untrusted input from external sources, it may be vulnerable to a DoS attack.
A vulnerability in gRPC-Go servers configured with `xds.NewGRPCServer()` allows a crafted request missing both `:authority` and `Host` headers to cause a server panic, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
In applications using OAuth::Consumer to request OAuth 1.0 tokens, the token request helper follows 300..399 redirects returned by the OAuth server. In affected versions, OAuth::Consumer#token_request parses the raw Location header and recursively follows the redirect.
A vulnerability in the urllib.parse component of Python before version 3.11.4 allows attackers to bypass blocklisting methods by supplying a URL that starts with blank characters.
An issue was discovered in py-lmdb 0.97 where mdb_node_del does not validate a memmove in the case of an unexpected node->mn_hi, leading to an invalid write operation. This occurs when accessing a data.mdb file supplied by an attacker.
The vulnerability occurs when an application uses OAuth2::Client and the authorization server returns a redirect with a Location header in the form of a protocol-relative URI. In this case, OAuth2::Client#request may incorrectly resolve the redirect.
