Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
SpaceX Starlink Dish devices with firmware 2024.12.04.mr46620 allow unauthenticated LAN gRPC requests, enabling administrative actions. The cross-origin policy can be bypassed by omitting a Referer header. An attacker can read tilt, rotation, and elevation data, making it easier to infer the dish's geographical location.
LibreChat in versions 0.8.0 and below lacks a handler for JSON parsing errors. SyntaxError from express.json() includes user input in the error message, which gets reflected in responses, creating an XSS risk if Content-Type isn't strictly enforced.
LibreChat versions 0.8.0 and below insufficiently validate JSON request bodies sent to the PATCH endpoint for prompt groups (/api/prompts/groups/:groupId). The patchPromptGroup function passes req.body directly to updatePromptGroup() without filtering sensitive fields, allowing users to modify prompts in unintended ways.
LibreChat is a ChatGPT clone with additional features. In versions 0.8.0 and below, when a user posts a question, the iconURL parameter of the POST request can be modified by an attacker. The malicious code is then stored in the chat which can then be shared to other users. When sharing chats with a potentially malicious 'tracker', resources loaded can lead to loss of privacy for users who view the chat link that is sent to them. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.1.
MaxKB is an open-source AI assistant for enterprise. Versions 2.3.1 and below have improper file permissions which allow attackers to overwrite the built-in dynamic linker and other critical files, potentially resulting in privilege escalation. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.0.
MaxKB is an open-source AI assistant for enterprise. In versions 2.3.1 and below, the tool module allows an attacker to escape the sandbox environment and escalate privileges under certain concurrent conditions. This issue is fixed in version 2.4.0.
Sandboxie versions 1.16.6 and below contain a heap overflow vulnerability in the SbieSvc.exe service. By manipulating the value_len parameter, an attacker from a sandboxed process can execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges, fully compromising the host. The issue is fixed in version 1.16.7.
WBCE CMS version 1.6.3 and prior contains an authenticated remote code execution vulnerability that allows administrators to upload malicious modules. Attackers can craft a specially designed ZIP module with embedded PHP reverse shell code to gain remote system access when the module is installed.
KodExplorer 4.52 contains an open redirect vulnerability in the user login page that allows attackers to manipulate the 'link' parameter. Attackers can craft malicious URLs to redirect users to arbitrary external websites after authentication.
A potential security vulnerability in Quartus Prime Pro Edition Design Software may allow escalation of privilege.
xbtitFM 4.1.18 contains an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability that allows remote attackers to manipulate database queries through the msgid parameter. Attackers can send crafted requests to /shoutedit.php with EXTRACTVALUE functions to extract database names, user credentials, and password hashes.
Quick.CMS 6.7 contains a SQL injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass login authentication by manipulating the login form. Attackers can inject specific SQL payloads like ' or '1'='1 to gain unauthorized administrative access to the system.
SPA-CART CMS before 2.0.0 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the product description parameter that allows authenticated administrators to inject malicious scripts. Attackers can submit JavaScript payloads through the 'descr' parameter in the product edit form to execute arbitrary code in administrative users' browsers.
FoF Pretty Mail 1.1.2 contains a server-side template injection vulnerability allowing administrative users to inject malicious code into email templates. Attackers can execute system commands by inserting crafted template expressions.
Purei CMS 1.0 contains a time-based blind SQL injection vulnerability that allows attackers to manipulate database queries through unfiltered user input parameters. Attackers can exploit vulnerable endpoints like getAllParks.php and events-ajax.php by injecting crafted SQL payloads to potentially extract or modify database information.
Siklu MultiHaul TG series devices before version 2.0.0 contain an unauthenticated vulnerability that allows remote attackers to retrieve randomly generated credentials via a network request. Attackers can send a specific hex-encoded command to port 12777 to obtain username and password, enabling direct SSH access to the device.
Compuware iStrobe Web 20.13 contains a pre-authentication remote code execution vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to upload malicious JSP files through a path traversal in the file upload form. Attackers can exploit the 'fileName' parameter to upload a web shell and execute arbitrary commands by sending POST requests to the uploaded JSP endpoint.
CE Phoenix v3.0.1 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the currencies administration panel that allows attackers to inject malicious scripts. Attackers can insert XSS payloads in the title field to execute arbitrary JavaScript when administrators view the currencies page.
ElkArte Forum 1.1.9 contains a remote code execution vulnerability that allows authenticated administrators to upload malicious PHP files through the theme installation process. Attackers can upload a ZIP archive with a PHP file containing system commands, which can then be executed by accessing the uploaded file in the theme directory.
XMB Forum 1.9.12.06 contains a persistent cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows authenticated administrators to inject malicious JavaScript into templates and front page settings. Attackers can insert XSS payloads in footer templates and news ticker fields, enabling script execution for all forum users when pages are rendered.
