Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
Improper neutralization of special elements used in a command ('command injection') in Microsoft 365 Copilot's Business Chat allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information over a network.
Authentication bypass by spoofing in Microsoft Dataverse allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Azure Logic Apps allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Azure Arc allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
Authorization bypass through a user-controlled key in Microsoft Container Registry allows an unauthorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
A vulnerability in Azure Arc involves unintended proxy or intermediary behavior, allowing an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
Incorrect authorization in Azure Machine Learning allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information over a network.
This CVE ID has been rejected or withdrawn by its CVE Numbering Authority. No technical details about the vulnerability are available.
Ai command injection in Microsoft Copilot allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information over a network.
SigNoz versions 0.87.0 before 0.142.0 fail to escape user-supplied telemetry field-key names in the v5 query_range API, allowing authenticated users to inject SQL. Attackers with Viewer role or higher can embed backticks and quotes in field names to break out of identifiers and string literals, executing arbitrary ClickHouse SQL to read system tables and exfiltrate data.
A vulnerability in the VES Collector component of O-RAN-SC SMO OAM allows uncontrolled memory allocation via manipulation of the additionalFields.padding argument. The attack can be launched remotely and the exploit has been publicly disclosed.
Session Fixation vulnerability in team-alembic ash_authentication allows an attacker who can plant a session identifier in a victim's browser to hold an authenticated session once that victim signs in. AshAuthentication.Plug.Helpers.store_in_session/2 writes the authenticated subject into the existing session with Plug.Conn.put_session/3 and never calls Plug.Conn.configure_session(renew: true), so the identifier the visitor arrived with carries into their authenticated session. Every authentication event reaches this one function: the default success/4 injected by AshAuthentication.Phoenix.Controller.__using__/1, the AuthController emitted by mix ash_authentication_phoenix.install, and remember-me auto-login. AshAuthentication.Phoenix.Plug.store_in_session/2 is a defdelegate to it. Logout does not close the window either, because clear_session/2 ends with Plug.Conn.clear_session/1, which clears session contents but leaves the identifier intact, so a planted identifier survives a logout-then-login cycle. This issue affects ash_authentication: from 0.2.0 before 4.15.0 and from 5.0.0-rc.0 before 5.0.0-rc.14.
This CVE ID was reserved but not needed. No technical details about the vulnerability are available.
A vulnerability in the ash_authentication library (Elixir) allows an attacker who can plant a remember-me cookie in a victim's browser to replace the victim's authenticated session with one for the attacker's own account. The issue stems from a mismatch between the session keys used by the guard and the reader, causing remember-me sign-in to run on every request.
Imager::File::PNG versions from 1.003 before 1.004 for Perl write past the end of the row buffer when reading a PNG with a tRNS transparency chunk in read_direct8. With a tRNS chunk, read_direct8() adds an alpha channel to the image it creates but still sizes the row buffer from the original channel count. libpng expands the transparency into that extra channel, so png_read_row() fills one channel more than the buffer holds, writing width bytes past the end of the allocation. Palette images go to read_paletted() and 16-bit images to read_direct16(), which sizes its buffer from png_get_rowbytes() and allocates enough for the expanded row. The same reader ships bundled in the Imager distribution. Reading an attacker-supplied PNG through Imager->read() corrupts the heap, which can crash the process.
Imager versions from 0.45_02 before 1.035 for Perl read outside the EXIF block via unchecked start offsets in tiff_load_ifd. tiff_load_ifd() validates an IFD entry's data by checking that entry->offset + entry->size stays within the EXIF block, and never checks the start offset itself. Where that sum is not the real end of the data, the check passes with the entry starting outside the block. Through 1.032 entry->offset is a plain int, so on the usual two's-complement implementations an offset with the high bit set converts to negative and the sum can land back inside the block. From 1.033 the field is a size_t and the addition wraps only where size_t is 32 bits. The IFD's own start offset is checked the same way and wraps where unsigned long is 32 bits, which includes 64-bit Windows. Any caller of Imager->read() on an attacker-supplied image may receive EXIF tags holding bytes from outside the block, or crash the process.
In WeGIA (a web manager for charitable institutions) prior to 3.8.5, the deletar_socios.php endpoint is accessible without authentication, and its chave parameter is checked only against a hardcoded value embedded in the public repository. An attacker who knows that value can trigger TRUNCATE TABLE operations on the endereco, pessoafisica, pessoajuridica, and socio tables, permanently destroying member and contributor records.
In Prebid Server Java prior to 3.43.0, certain bidder adapters interpolate user-supplied parameters into outbound request URLs without using HttpUtil to validate the resulting domain or path segment. A malicious actor who can supply bid-request parameters can cause the server to send HTTP requests to unintended destinations, including internal services or metadata endpoints.
WeGIA is a web manager for charitable institutions. Prior to 3.8.5, WeGIA maps InternoControle to an empty resource array in web/controle/control.php, and verificarPermissao in web/dao/MiddlewareDAO.php treats that empty array as unconditional access for every authenticated user. The methods in web/controle/InternoControle.php, including listarUm, alterar, and excluir, accept user-controlled id or idInterno values without verifying ownership, allowing a low-privileged user to read, modify, or delete another person's records and expose personal, identity, address, medical, and family information. The advisory notes that a self-referencing load bug can crash this controller in the reported revision, but the empty-resource authorization pattern and affected methods remain the vulnerability under review. This issue is fixed in version 3.8.5.
In WeGIA prior to 3.8.5, the contribution request dispatcher in web/html/contribuicao/controller/control.php accepts attacker-controlled nomeClasse and metodo values without a complete controller and method allowlist, exempts sensitive ContribuicaoLogController operations from authentication, and constructs a controller include path without canonical directory containment. An unauthenticated attacker can invoke sensitive methods, disclose contribution and donation records, trigger financial operations, and include files outside the intended controller directory.
