Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
Lantronix SLC8000 (before firmware v9.7.0.3), SLC9000 (before v9.7.0.2), EMG8500/EMG7500 (before v9.7.0.1), and all firmware versions of SLB882 contain an SSRF vulnerability in the WebSSH/WebTelnet listener. An unauthenticated attacker can modify the rooturl parameter to redirect the Telnet connection to an arbitrary host or IP. This enables enumeration of and communication with internal network endpoints.

The custom shellinaboxd builds its SSH connection target using snprintf with user-supplied input; supplying an overlong username truncates the device IP suffix and redirects the connection to an arbitrary host. This enables enumeration of and communication with internal network endpoints.
Lantronix SLC8000/SLC9000 before firmware v9.7.0.2, EMG8500/EMG7500 before firmware v9.7.0.1, and all firmware versions of SLB882/SLCx-03/SLCx-02 contain a stack-based buffer overflow. An authenticated attacker can potentially execute arbitrary code by exploiting an undocumented mfc eeprom write command that copies unbounded user input into a bounded stack buffer before passing it to a system() call.

An authenticated attacker can potentially execute arbitrary code by exploiting an undocumented mfc eeprom read command that copies unbounded user input into a bounded stack buffer before passing it to a system() call.

An authenticated attacker with the services permission can execute arbitrary shell commands as root via the 'set cifs password' command, which passes unsanitized user input to a system() call.

In Cloudreve prior to 4.18.0, the ValidateExternalURL server-side request forgery (SSRF) guard in pkg/request/ssrf.go passes resolved addresses to checkIP without decoding NAT64, IPv4-compatible, and 6to4 IPv4-in-IPv6 transition forms. An authenticated user with remote-download access can provide SrcUri through RemoteDownloadTask.createDownloadTask so a wrapper embedding a loopback, private, link-local, or cloud metadata IPv4 address is classified as public and fetched, exposing internal service responses and cloud instance credentials. IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses remain blocked because Go converts that form with net.IP.To4.
webpy web.py 0.76 is vulnerable to Session Fixation. The Session._load() component reads session_id directly from the request cookie and loads that session from the store, and _save() writes back under the same session_id; there is no rotation after authentication, so a fixed session_id keeps the authenticated state.
webpy web.py 0.76 is vulnerable to Cross Site Scripting (XSS) via render_jinja.__init__().
Cloudreve before version 4.18.0 lacks the RequiredScopes(types.ScopeAdminWrite) middleware on tool.GET("wopi") and tool.POST("mail") routes, which inherit ScopeAdminRead. An OAuth application or API key with Admin.Read can probe configured WOPI endpoints and send arbitrary test emails via the server SMTP configuration, exceeding read-only authorization boundaries.
Cloudreve is a self-hosted file management and sharing system. Prior to 4.18.0, PrepareUpload checks a stale in-memory user storage value and later applies an unconditional storage charge outside the same quota-enforcing transaction. An authenticated user with Files.Write permission can issue concurrent upload-session requests that read the same capacity snapshot, all pass the MaxStorage check, and reserve their declared sizes through CommitWithStorageDiff, exceeding the account quota and exhausting host storage.
Vector is a high-performance observability data pipeline. From 0.10.0 until 0.57.0, the file sink renders its templated path from event fields and opens the result without confining it to an intended directory. When an untrusted source supplies an event field used by the path template, the value can contain an absolute path or parent-directory traversal, causing Vector to create parent directories and create or overwrite files outside the intended location with the Vector process privileges.
In Vector from 0.15.0 until 0.57.0, the logstash source feeds each decompressed frame back into its decoder without limiting nested compression depth. An unauthenticated remote peer that can reach the default 0.0.0.0:5044 listener can send many nested compressed frames, causing recursive decoding that exhausts the worker thread stack and aborts the process. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.0.
In Vector from 0.15.0 until 0.57.0, the logstash source reads a 32-bit compressed-frame length from the network and uses it to size an in-memory buffer without an upper bound. An unauthenticated remote peer that can reach the default 0.0.0.0:5044 listener can send a minimal frame declaring a multi-gigabyte payload, causing an excessive allocation that can abort Vector or invoke the host OOM killer. This issue is fixed in version 0.57.0.
Frigate is an open source network video recorder. Prior to 0.18.0, the prefix-matched location /api/go2rtc/api in docker/main/rootfs/usr/local/nginx/conf/nginx.conf requires authentication but does not require an administrator role for GET requests, exposing the proxied go2rtc API to viewer users. An authenticated viewer can request the streams, config, log, and stack subpaths to obtain internal addresses, configuration paths, application logs, goroutine stack data, and RTSP stream URLs that may contain camera credentials. This issue is fixed in version 0.18.0.
Frigate is an open source network video recorder. Prior to 0.17.2, the WebSocket handler in frigate/comms/ws.py forwards attacker-selected message topics to the dispatcher without checking the authenticated user's role because the nginx authentication subrequest does not provide role-aware authorization to the handler. Any authenticated viewer can send admin-only topics such as restart, notifications/set, and camera detection, recording, snapshot, audio, motion, and enablement settings, causing service restarts or disabling security monitoring functions. This issue is fixed in version 0.17.2.
In Novu prior to 3.18.0, integration mutation use cases including remove-integration, update-integration, auto-configure-integration, and set-integration-as-primary look up an integration by integrationId and organizationId without consistently enforcing environmentId. A caller with access to one environment in an organization can target an integration identifier from another environment and delete the integration, modify its credentials, change the primary provider, or trigger auto-configuration. The repository advisory defines both environment API keys and dashboard sessions as affected. The 3.18.0 change enforces the environment boundary only for environment-scoped API-key authentication, while its tests intentionally retain cross-environment dashboard-session behavior, so it does not completely remediate the advisory-defined scope. Version 3.18.0 is a partial fix attempt, and the dashboard-session behavior requires curator resolution.
Novu before version 3.18.0 does not validate chat webhook URLs from various sources, passing them to raw HTTP requests. An authenticated user can send POST requests to internal network services, potentially causing unauthorized actions.
