Chyrp Lite vulnerabilities

Chyrp Lite version 2016.04 is vulnerable to a CSRF in the user settings function allowing attackers to hijack the authentication of logged in users to modify account information, including their password.

Chyrp Lite prior to 2026.01 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the administration console that allows an administrator or a user with Change Settings permission to change the uploads path to any folder. This allows downloading any file on the server, including config.json.php with database credentials, and overwriting critical system files.

Chyrp Lite prior to version 2026.01 has an IDOR/Mass Assignment issue in the Post model. Authenticated users with post editing permissions can modify other users' posts by passing internal class properties like id into the post_attributes payload.
